Look What the Lord Has Done

Oh, look what the Lord has done.
I love this proclamation. You know why?
Because I have bragging rights. Boasting in a Mighty God who’s done great things.
Do you have bragging rights in a specific career, talent, discovery, invention, award, hobby, or other?
Maybe you’ve heard things like, “She has bragging rights in cooking after winning the bake off.” Or, “My son has bragging rights in basketball as an all-star.”
And it’s a big deal, Bravo! Way to go!
So it makes me think about our awesome God.
As one of His children, we have bragging rights to what He has done in our lives. What He’s done in the past and will do in the future.
And it’s a big deal, Praise the Lord! You are worthy, God!

God loved us from our beginning. He even loved us before we were born.
Look what the Lord has done. He lavished His love on us through Jesus Christ His Son. The blood of Christ spilled on Calvary’s Cross for me and for you. Oh, how He loves us to suffer through lashes, pierced by nails, and died an innocent death to take our place for sin and shame. Thank you, Lord.
“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (ESV)
“But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5 (ESV)
Leads and Shepherds Us

The God of the universe tenderly leads us as the Good Shepherd. We need leading on life’s path and the Christian journey.
And the Lord tenderly watches over us and cares for us. The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep and they know Him and He knows His own. (John 10: 11 &14)
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters…He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:1-4 (ESV)
“But we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will give thanks to you forever; from generation to generation we will recount your praise.” Psalm 79:13 (ESV)

How amazing that the Lord works in us, transforming us into the likeness of Christ and changing us from the inside out. So we pray people see Jesus in us through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Also, the Lord works for us. When we take a moment to list our blessings, we see God’s works on every page of our story. Even as we journal about God’s acts in our lives and on our behalf, it makes our praise and thanksgiving soar to new heights.
And as we share our God-stories with others, the Lord is not denied His rightful glory for all He has done and will do.

Lord, help me remember Your great works. Assure me that You work behind the scenes on my behalf even when it appears nothing good is happening. Although my circumstances don’t change, let me see Your footprints—how goodness and mercy always follow me (Psalm 23:6) because You are my Shepherd.
Remind me, Lord, how You moved mountains, parted seas, sent mana from heaven, faithfully led Your people in the wilderness, and always provided. And help me remember You’ll do it again for me. Your faithfulness is past, present, and future tense. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Such wondrous things our God has done and continues to do for us as His children through Jesus! May we trust Him always to see us through all things, guiding us along as a good shepherd would. Blessings, Karen, and thanks for this inspirational reminder today!
Yes, Martha, that’s why I love saying, “Oh look what the Lord has done!” It’s not only a reminder of His works in our lives, but also a promise of what He will do. God bless.
I love this so much Karen!
God has helped my husband through 3 cancers and a heart attack. We are so very blessed.
We always say He wasn’t ready for him yet!
I absolutely love and look forward to your writings.
God bless,
Michelle
Michelle, I appreciate your kind and encouraging words. Wow, the Lord sure has been with you and your husband through all these health issues. Praise His mighty name.
Yay! I have bragging rights, too! And there is so much to brag about. I love your prayer at the end and I made it my own. Thank you, Karen.
Thanks, Stephen. I desire to pray that prayer often and with a genuine heart. “But we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will give thanks to you forever; from generation to generation we will recount your praise.” Psalm 79:13 (ESV)
I love this mindset of gratitude and praise of all the wonderful things God has done! It keeps our hearts warmed toward the Lord and opens doors to tell others how good God is. Thank you for this beautiful message! God bless!
Melissa, I like how you said gratitude “keeps our hearts warmed toward the Lord.” Thats so good. When we take a moment to list our blessings, we see God’s works on every page of our story. Even as we journal about God’s acts in our lives and on our behalf, it makes our praise and thanksgiving soar to new heights.

I’m claiming bragging rights too, for all the incredible things God has done in my life. Great message Karen, and something we need to do more often, brag on God.
Yvonne, I want to brag on God more and more. Because we find it easy to brag on our family members like kids and grandkids, let’s pray we brag on our heavenly Father.
So good, Karen!! God has done so much. Sometimes stress causes me to get down… but as soon as I stop and begin to think of the things He has done for me, everything from peace in my daily life to the sunrise to my home and family… my priorities align and I remember how blessed I am!
Beautifully said, Jessica. Lord, help me remember Your great works. Assure me that You work behind the scenes on my behalf even when it appears nothing good is happening. Although my circumstances don’t change, let me see Your footprints—how goodness and mercy always follow me (Psalm 23:6) because You are my Shepherd.
