Miracles Part 2: When God Shows Up at Prime Time

Prime Time, Adobe SparkGod orchestrates miracles at prime time.

Even if things look and feel hopeless, His glory shows up in the choicest hour.

From Genesis to Revelation, stories of miracles grace the pages of God’s Word. The dead come back to life. Nature obeys the Creator’s voice—the rain comes or stops, the winds and waves cease or the sun doesn’t set.

Still further, a virgin gives birth to the messiah. A boy’s lunch of a few fish and bread multiplies to feed thousands. The lame walk, the blind see, and the oppressed find freedom.

Miracles at Prime Time

Not only does the Lord perform miracles for His people at the opportune time. But miracles of faith require us to follow God’s instructions.

In Exodus 14, Moses leads the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. A place of physical and emotional bondage. As God’s people travel through the wilderness, the Egyptian ruler, Pharaoh, and his army pursue them.

The scene looked and felt hopeless.

And they said to Moses,…are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you treated us this way and brought us out of Egypt?…it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness” Exodus 14:11-12. (Emphasis mine.)

The Israelites find themselves up against a huge barrier…the Red Sea. As they wait on the shore, the enemy closes in with no where for them to go.

But, I’m also familiar with the it-would-have-been-better attitude. And it usually comes:

  • On the heels of the enemies pursuit.
  • When the hardships of life close in around me.
  • As I face unbelievable barriers.
  • In what seems like an unforeseeable way out.

“Moses said to the people, ‘Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today’” (verse 13). Then the Lord tells Moses to have the people go forward (verse 15). Prime Time, Adobe Spark

4 Obedient Ways to Wait on God

  1. Fear not. Do not be afraid of the enemy or in the midst of difficult circumstances. Both pale in comparison to God’s power and glory.
  2. Stand firm. Do not shift in your perspective. Shaky perspectives move us out of a position for God’s glory. “God, it would have been better….” Keep a God-perspective. Let Him work behind the scenes on your behalf and in His way.
  3. See Salvation. Deliverance comes from God. He rescues from sin. He saves the weary soul. And He holds time in His hand. Timing is everything. The Lord’s glory is perfectly orchestrated at the right time.
  4. Go forward. The Lord tells Moses to have the people go forward before the Red Sea is divided. So they could cross on dry land. Before they could see a way of escape, they needed to move. The Lord pre-arranges the details and the final results that will bring about His ultimate glory.

God’s Prime Time Glory

God keeps His Word. When He says, I am the Lord, I will….it comes to pass.

I will get the glory over Pharaoh and all his host and they shall know that I am the Lord (verse 4). I am the Lord who drove back the Red Sea by a strong east wind for Israel to cross on dry land (verse 21).

And He’s the Lord who saved Israel while they watched His great power and glory (verses 30-31).

While Prime Time is usually related to radio and television. Let’s apply the term to God’s work in the spiritual realm.

Prime time defined by Merriam Webster, “the choicest or busiest time; the highest or most difficult level of use.” Google, “…occurring time at which an audience is expected to be greatest….” Cambridge dictionary, “…when the largest number of people are watching….”

God’s power often shows up in our lives during the choicest time, at the most difficult level of use, and when the audience is expected to be the greatest—the largest number of people will see His glory.

Prime Time, Adobe SparkMiracles happen all around us. We may see them. But sometimes miracles remain unseen, known only in the heavenly places.

Yet, God always shows up at prime time. Whatever happens, people will know He is the Lord.

I mentioned my friend, Kristi, in last week’s post, I Believe In God and I Believe in Miracles. She’s making progress in her recovery. Definitely, miracles are taking place. Continue to pray.

What miracle do you need today?

I love the 4 ways you list here, Karen! It is so true that faith requires obedience. I think sometimes they feel one in the same, when we don’t see the whole picture and are taking a step at a time. God is so good and faithful to us, even when we teeter though — and lean on him for for our everything! Thank you for sharing today!

Thank you, Meghan. That’s a great perspective and appreciate you stopping by and commenting. Yes, I do believe in miracles and God’s sovereignty in His ways. And obedience to Him brings the most good and His glory. Blessings!
