Pray These Scriptures to Thank God

Do I thank God?
Because I’m quick to thank others.
Thank you rolls off my tongue when someone opens the door, a server brings me more water, a compliment comes my way, I receive needed help, and more.
But do we remember to thank God for so many blessings and His presence in our lives?
And sometimes we need reminding to say, “Thank you, God.”
Since I enjoy praying specific Bible verses, I’m sharing 10 Scriptures to pray.

What wonderful verses you’ve shared here, Karen, and prayers of thanks to our Father in Heaven. Always and everywhere, let us give Him thanks and praise for all He has done and will do for us. Blessings!
Yes, always and forever give thanks to the worthy One. “Father God, thank you for the privilege to talk to you, listen to you, and come into your presence through prayer. Make me a woman of prayer, touch my heart with a desire that longs to pray and commune with you. Thank you that no matter what I’m going through, you are with me and sustain me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
I thank God for you and your gift of words that flow from your godward heart. I love these Scriptures and prayers and commit to be more intentional to thank God more.
So kind of you to say, Susan. I’m grateful for your encouragement. I desire to be more thankful in my heart and from my lips to our heavenly Father for His majesty and greatness. “Lord, I bless your holy name. You are matchless and deserve all the glory arnd honor due your name. I praise you, Lord, with thanksgiving for who you are, my God, and for all your wonderful attributes. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
Amen. Thank You Jesus. 🙂
“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:6-7 (ESV)
Karen, I love this! I woke up today, thinking how I want to thank and praise God but get distracted or don’t have the words or just plain forget. Thank you so much for your excellent way of regaining focus on the Lord. May God continue to bless you and your work in Christ in Jesus’ Name.
Grateful this encouraged you, Mary. And appreciate your kind comment. I think the enemy is good at distracting us from spiritual things and thanking God on a regular basis. God bless! “Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted.” Isaiah 12:4b (ESV)
I’ve been making a point to do this more often. Thanksgiving is so important for us. Thanks Karen.
It is important, Yvonne. And sometimes we only remember to focus on it during the Thanksgiving holiday season. But we should be thankful to our good, good Father every day and all year long. God bless.
By the grace of God (through Christ) Truth. So Essentially, Vividly, and Adeptly Real…Yes and Amen.
God bless! “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.” Psalm 136:1 (ESV)
Gratitude can change our lives! But we must remember to thank the One who is the source of our blessings. Thank you for this beautiful post. God is so good! Blessings, Karen!
He is the source of our blessings and the book of James says all good things come down from the Father of lights. Hallelujah! God bless!
Great post! You are right — sometimes we go about our merry way, accepting God’s blessings yet forgetting to thank him, as though we EXPECT the blessings God’s blessings are a gift!
They are a gift, Jessia. “Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!” Psalm 100:4 (ESV)
