There’s No One Like God Who Died for Me

There’s No One Like God Who Died for Me

What kind of God leaves the splendor and majesty of heaven to die for me? My God. So there’s no one—person or god—like God who died for me.

Because the Bible tells of our need for a Savior to save us from our sins. (See Romans 3:23; 6:23)

How amazing the one true God not only created beings for His good pleasure and relationship with Him.

But God also provided a way back to Himself when the first humans disobeyed Him.

This way back to Him came through the incarnation of God, His Son. Christ suffered and died for all humanity

The God who died for me created me in His image.

Out of great love, God created humans in His own image.

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27 (ESV)

“For you formed my inward parts, you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:13-14 (ESV)

God didn’t have to create me or you, but He chose to. He wanted to. And He took great pleasure in forming us into His image to reflect His glory.

This same God pursued me.

“For thus says the Lord God: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out.” Ezekiel 34:11 (ESV)

Also, the Good Shepherd leaves the 99 sheep to pursue and find the one lost sheep. (Luke 15:4-7)

Just imagine a God with such extravagant love that He never, ever stops pursuing us. He continually seeks us out, even with others safely in His fold. He leaves the 99 for us every time.

No one like God who died for me.

Our God, in His lovingkindness, left His throne room in heaven and became flesh. Jesus Christ, the incarnation of God, never lost an ounce of His deity. Yet, He came to die for me and for you.

“Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:6-11 (ESV)

God who died for me longs for relationship with me.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20 (ESV)

It’s mindblowing that God longs for intimate relationship with us. He desires to spend time with us, converse with us, and walk with us every day. For this is the only way any relationship grows stronger in intimacy.

Revelation 3:20 represents a call to open our heart to the Lord as Savior. So it encourages us in a daily communion with our heavenly Father through prayer, worship, God’s Word, and basking in His glorioius presence.

The Lamb of God.

“Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:4-5 (ESV)

“Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28 (ESV)

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!” Revelation 5:12b (ESV)

“There is no one like you, Lord, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears.” 1 Chronicles 17:20 (NIV)

Praise God that He pursued me relentlessly and won me over! Every time I think about His gracious love and care for all His children, it seems unfathomable. We don’t deserve to be forgiven and free, yet God made a way for us to be just that. Wonderful inspiration today, Karen. Blessings!

Amen. God loves us more than we can understand. What a joy to be a daughter of God! Have a blessed day!
