There’s Nothing Better Than Jesus

There's Nothing Better Than Jesus

There really is nothing in this world better than Jesus.

Oh, maybe we’ve tried to find the “better” of something.

Or, we attempt to find satisfaction in people or things.

But we soon realize how Jesus is unmatched.

Have you ever said or thought, I want a better car…a better house…a better _____________ (fill in the blank).

And we hope the good parts of life outweigh the bad.

Like when the world seems half mad and all the sad things that happen because of evil.

Still, what ushers in a well-spring of satisfaction deep in my soul? What in the world feeds the human soul’s hunger and quenches our spirit’s thirst? Jesus.

Sometimes we search for something better or satisfaction in things or people. There really is nothing in this world better than Jesus. Share on X

Fullness of Joy: Better Than Jesus

“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11 (ESV)

You see, as the Lord shows us the path of life and we find joy in His presence, we also discover spiritual pleasures in His right hand. And how long do they last? Forevermore.

Eternal Bread and Life

Not only do we feed our bodies to sustain life, but we must also nourish our souls. Something much deeper than feeding our stomachs to be merry and full. Nothing the world offers curbs our spiritual appetites, gives long-lasting satisfaction, or transforms our character.

“But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:14 (ESV)

“It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4 (NIV)

Overflowing

Do we remember to go to the true source of everlasting joy and peace? Are we confident the Lord fills us with good and true things? Have we realized God’s fullness seeps into every corner and crevice of our empty places?

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.” Psalm 23:5 (ESV)

There's Nothing Better Than Jesus

“For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” Psalm 107:9 (NIV)

“I am the Lord your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.” Psalm 81:10 (ESV)

Nothing Better Than Jesus

Poor in spirit, we have intangible needs that never expire.

Like grace, love, mercy, joy, peace, and hope.

Although they seem abstract, we actually take hold of them when we go to Jesus. Because unlike things that expire, what the world offers, Jesus manifests these characteristics in our lives. And they never run out.

“Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.” Psalm 34:10b (ESV)

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13 (ESV)

“Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory.” 1 Peter 1:8 (ESV)

“Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.’” Psalm 126:2 (ESV)

Jesus, our All in All

When we keep going back to Jesus as the better thing and the true source of life, joy, peace, abundance, and more, then we are filled with every spiritual blessing. And we are filled with Him. Therefore, our lives are full of Almighty God.

We realize the abundant life is not a promise of possessions, but a promise we possess the most important parts of life. Like faith, steadfast love, the Lord’s leading, strength for times of waiting, comfort in times of trouble, healing for a wounded heart, and Jesus’ glory in us.

Appreciate your encouragement, Melissa. I’m so grateful for Jesus in my life. God bless, friend.

This is such a beautiful message and reminder. So many things may be crumbling around us, but Jesus never fails. It’s so important to remember that God’s blessings are eternal and go deeper than earthly blessings. He loves us to the depths of our souls. God bless you!

Karen says:

Wonderful insgight, Melissa. I’ve found that when I build my own earthly kingdom, it definitely crumbles around me at some point. But God’s kingdom is everlasting and eternal. Jesus has no expiration date. God bless!

Amen, so true. Nothing compares to Jesus … He alone fills every empty place with lasting peace, joy, and hope.

Yes, He does. Jesus is truly our all in all. The source of joy and peace and life. God bless.

It might sound trite, but it’s really not. It’s true—nothing at all can satisfy like Jesus. Nothing compares to him. Great piece, Karen!

Karen says:

Thank you, Jessica. All the times we seek satisfaction in other things, we soon learn they fall short at filling us, keeping us full, and 100% satisfaction guaranteed. But not Jesus.

Yvonne Morgan says:

Jesus is my everything and I’ve learned He is the one who satisfies my longings. Thanks Karen.

Karen says:

I continue to learn that truth daily. God bless, Yvonne.
