Come and Hear What God Has Done for Me

“Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me.” Psalm 66:16 (NIV)
I enjoy hearing people speak about God. And I especially love hearing God stories. Like how someone first met Christ as Savior and how the Lord has worked in their lives.
Psalm 66:16 invites us to come and hear these testimonials from each other.
The English Standard Version says the last phrase as: “and I will tell what he has done for my soul.” (Psalm 66:16)
Because what God has done for us and for our soul are worth sharing.
Come and Hear: Made a Way
As the Lord made a way for the children of Israel to walk across on dry land when He parted the Red Sea. God made a way for us to come to Him.
He bridged the gap when Jesus died on the cross for us.
“He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot—come, let us rejoice in him.” Psalm 66:6 (NIV)
God stories are weaved throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Stories from God’s people of how He always makes a way. Even when there seems to be no way.
Maybe tough circumstances, illness, loss, or needing direction gives us an opportunity for God to make a way through the valley if we can’t go around it.
Come and hear. How has God made a way in your life?
The Bible invites us to come and hear stories of what God has done in our lives and for our soul. All to the glory of God. Share on XRedeemed
God redeemed my soul with Jesus’ blood. Also, God redeemed my past as He continues to write my God story in the present. I’m so grateful for God’s redeeming love in my story.
“Blessed be God, because he has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me!” Psalm 66:20 (ESV)
Come and hear. How do see God’s redeeming love in your story?
Come and Hear: Saved Me
God saved me from everlasting death to eternal life. I sing a salvation song in my heart and soul. And he saved me from myself, the enemy, and other gods.

Our knowledge and awareness of all the things the Lord has and will spare us from is limited. Perhaps one day, we’ll know.
“Praise our God, all peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping….we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.” Psalm 66:8-9, 12b (NIV)
Come and hear. Have you moved from everlasting death to eternal life?
Spiritual and Abundant Life
When we share our God stories, we need to know and remember that spiritual and abundant life starts now. Because God makes us new in Him, we learn to walk in the Spirit and dwell in a place of spiritual abundance.
After all, God seats us in heavenly places. (Ephesians 2:6) So He blesses us with mercy, love, grace, peace, forgiveness, right-standing, adoption, hope, truth, relationship, strength, comfort, prayer, goodness, and His faithful promises.
Come and hear. How has God brought you to a place of abundance?
Come and Hear: Shout for Joy to God
“Shout for joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious. Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!” Psalm 66:1-3a (NIV)
So before Psalm 66 shares details of what God has done, the Psalmist praises God and shouts for joy. Why? Because all the earth makes His praise glorious and sings glory to His name.
Oh, how awesome are Your deeds, Lord! Help us to invite others to hear as we recount Your marvelous love and works in our lives. Our God story gives all the glory to Your Name alone. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Every single day, God is writing our stories, and we need to share the Good News of what He has done and is still doing in our lives. May we be His faithful followers and proponents of His praise. Beautifully written, Karen! Blessings!
Martha, I’m so thankful God continues to write our God story. And we can see His goodness and mercy (steadfast love) on every page. God bless.
You are so right, Karen. Our abundant life with Christ is for here and now, not just in heaven to come. I have a whole notebook of God-stories, started in 1983 as the result of a Bible study I was working on at the time. What a treasure it is now as I look back on the hundreds of entries, describing the times God protected, provided for, and guided our family. Just yesterday I posted some examples on my blog from years ago! (If you’re interested, you can access the post here: https://nancyaruegg.com/2026/04/23/sacred-hands-behind-the-scenes/.)
Thanks for sharing, Nancy. That is awesome. I always say spiritual hindsight is 20/20. Because we are now at a distance (from the circumstances, the thing, etc.) to look back and see how God was working for our good and His glory. And we may never know all the times He worked on our behalf behind the scenes in this life. God bless. Appreciate your comment and sharing your experiences. God bless.
Amen. We are loved by God. Thank you for this beautiful reminder of His love and care. Blessings.
God bless, Melissa. “Shout for joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious. Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!” Psalm 66:1-3a (NIV)

Amen Karen. Our stories are so meaningful and can help lead others. Thanks for sharing
God-stories are so powerful in our lives and for others, Yvonne. God bless.
I trusted Jesus as my Savior and Lord over 45 years ago. I’ve definitely had some rocky times, but I’ve been serving God ever since. Jesus truly changed my life and is still refining me. The long, circuitous route I took to finally trust in His sacrifice is not one I’d expected when I first made the decision to live my own life and I’ll get saved later. Thankfully, God brought me back because I had no intentions on returning to seek salvation.
Thanks for sharing your story, Stephen. Grateful the Lord refines us and continues to write our story despite any wrong turns we make. God bless. “Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me.” Psalm 66:16 (NIV)
So powerful. That’s a great question: Are we sharing our stories? Are we proclaiming the good news far and wide? It’s so important that we do so! Thank you for sharing YOUR story!
Jessica, “let the redeemed of the Lord say so.” Psalm 107:2
