Jesus Went to the Cross for You

If you were the only person on earth, Jesus still would have come and died on the cross for you.
That’s how much your life is worth to Him.
Yet, we may believe God loves others, but deep down, we wonder if He loves us in the same way.
Or perhaps we know the story of the cross and the empty tomb, but we struggle to make it personal. Jesus suffered, died, and rose again—not just for the world, but for you. For me.
Take a moment to let that truth sink into your heart.
Say these words quietly to yourself or speak them aloud:
Jesus went to the cross for me.
Let those words settle deep within you. This is how deeply God loves you.
Yes, Jesus came to save the whole world, but He also came for you personally. He sees you. He knows you. And He willingly laid down His life for you.
You are loved more deeply than you can imagine, and the cross is the proof.
(1.) Jesus loved you so much, He died for you on the cross
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (ESV)
Read John 3:16 again, inserting your name in place of “world” to make it personal.
1 John 4:19 says, “We love because he first loved us” (ESV).
God created love and demonstrated love on Calvary’s cross through His Son—a show-and-tell affection.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank You for loving me and Your provision of grace through Your Son. Help me to believe and know it was for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

(2.) Jesus took on your sin and spilled His blood to redeem you
God sent Jesus from the throne room of heaven to take our place. Beaten, bruised, and pierced with nails, His blood spilled on a cross. And He bestowed forgiveness on us to cover our sins.
Although sin separated me and you from God, Jesus made a way to God through His blood—the gift of salvation.
“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2:24 (ESV)
“But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5 (ESV)
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for forgiving me of my sin and redeeming me. I praise Your holy and matchless name. Help me die to sin and live for righteousness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
(3.) The cross sets you free from condemnation and shame
You no longer walk in condemnation or shame. Jesus nailed sin and condemnation to the cross.
“When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.” Colossians 2:13-14 (ESV)
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2 (NIV)
Prayer: Lord, I’m so grateful You nailed my shame and condemnation to the cross. I need Your help to walk in freedom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Because of an empty tomb, we possess a living hope. A resurrection hope.
God in the flesh came to earth, died a sacrificial death on the cross for the sins of all mankind. Buried in a borrowed tomb and raised to life on the third day. Then Jesus appeared to over 500 people.

“He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.” 1 Peter 1:20-21 (NIV)
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3 (ESV)
Prayer: God, I pray to always place my hope and trust fully in You and not in the false hopes this world offers. You’re my hope in this life and the next. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
