All to Jesus I Surrender: 5 Key Bible Verses

God is more interested in our surrender than our sufficiency. Why? Because He desires we surrender all to Jesus.
Ever since I gave my heart and life to Christ at sixteen, I’ve heard about surrender in the Christian life. And I remember singing a familiar hymn to surrender all to Jesus even before my salvation.
The lyrics and melody play in my mind often.
Surrendering everything about our lives is an important aspect of our faith journey. And it’s key to our spiritual maturity.
But how do we surrender “all” to Jesus?
Jesus modeled surrender in a life completely surrendered to the heavenly Father.
So let’s look at Scriptures that point us to the surrendered life.
Surrender All to Jesus
(1.) “Then Jesus told his disciples, ‘If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.’” Matthew 16:24 (ESV)
We surrender control. We deny going our own way—the right to live for ourselves. Because following Jesus with full surrender and faithfully living as a believer is not even about me.
Instead, it’s “all” about the One who said, “Follow Me.”
(2.) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV)
Surrender is trusting in Christ and acknowledging His wisdom and lordship. Jesus wants our surrender, not our sufficiency.
Where are we trying to be self-sufficient and relying on our own ability?
To surrender all means we fully surrender to who Jesus is and as Lord over our lives.
I surrender all to Jesus means trusting in Christ and acknowledging His wisdom and lordship. We fully surrender to who Jesus is and as Lord over our lives. Share on XLiving Sacrifice
(3.) “Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully.” Psalm 24:3-4 (ESV)

Clean hands and a pure heart is surrendering to God’s Word and asking Him to cleanse us from sin. Worshiping Christ above anything this world offers. Worshiping Him with our life.
(4.) “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2 (ESV)
Romans 12:1-2 calls me to not be conformed to this world, I’m called to offer myself as a living sacrifice.
But it’s hard to be a living sacrifice when I keep crawling off the altar.
Surrender is a transformed mind—the mind of Christ—and a sacrificed life to Jesus.
Surrender All to Jesus and Seek
(5.) “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33 (ESV)
We surrender “all” when we seek God’s kingdom and righteousness.
And we don’t build our own kingdoms on earth or seek worldly pleasures that feed our flesh but starve our spirit. Instead, we satisfy the deepest longings of our soul with living waters.
Only Jesus quenches what our soul thirsts for the most: hope, peace, love, mercy, grace, and life itself.
Prayer of Surrender
Lord, I surrender all to You. Please help me to deny myself as I fully follow You with complete abandon. It’s not easy, but with the power of the Holy Spirit, surrender is possible. Let my heart trust Your ways, plans, and path for me. Give me clean hands and a pure heart as I seek Your kingdom above all. I need Your strength to be a living sacrifice instead of conforming to the world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Amen. I surrender all to Him. When I say those words, a peace beyond understanding fills me. 🙂 Have a blessed day!
Surrender does bring peace. Never thought of it that way, Melissa. God bless.
How I loved your Prayer of Surrender at the conclusion of your post, Karen! Yes, a life surrendered completely to Jesus is the only way to truly have the abundant life He can and will give us. Blessings!
Yes, Martha! God bless! “Lord, I surrender all to You. Give me clean hands and a pure heart as I seek Your kingdom above all. I need Your strength to be a living sacrifice, not conforming to the world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

I surrender all to Jesus. It is an amazing life when we learn this concept. Another great message Karen.
Thank you, Yvonne. I pray to walk in the surrendered life, to follow Jwsus with complete abandon.
Oh, how much we can accomplish for God when we truly surrender all. I especially like this, Karen: “it’s hard to be a living sacrifice when I keep crawling off the altar.” There are many things that pull us off of the altar, even though total surrender is the best place to be.
That’s so true, Stephen. Fully surrendering to the Lord and following Him with complete abandon makes all the difference in our Christian journey. Thanks for your comment. God bless.

Karen I just want to say you are an inspiration to all of us. My husband and I follow you and Mike on YouTube and have been for years. Seeing the two of you go through what you went through with Mike was devastating to us. That hit us like it was a member of our family. Because we look at our YouTube family as a part of our everyday family. I also went through a similar experience back in 2021 where I got COVID and almost died. But God saved me and I found him that night. It was so bad that I had already texted my loved ones and told them goodbye. I know that God saved me for a purpose. I still have not found out what that purpose is as of yet, but I am in a church, I pray as much as I can, I read my Bible and have been reading your blogs. I also have another devotional by David Jeremiah that I read everyday. So y’all keep me in your prayers that I can find my purpose and that I grow a stronger relationship with God because I want that more than anything. Okay enough of my rambling lol. I hope you guys have a blessed day. ❤️
Hey Jennifer, such a kind and encouraging comment. We’re grateful you watch our content. Thanks for sharing your experience. Thankful you made it out of COVID. When people say, “God’s not finished with me yet”, not only does it mean how he’s still working on us, growing us more and more into the image of Jesus, and growing us spiritually. But it also means that if we are given a second chance at life, He’s definitely not finished with us on this earth. We will pray for you. Let me encourage you to be present in your daily life and open to divine appointments. Jesus during His ministry on earth, met people in their everyday lives. We can even ask the Lord every morning to come along with us and help us to see the opportunities right in front of us to be His hands and feet wherever we are, whatever we’re doing. God bless and so wonderful to hear from you! “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33 (ESV)
